Becoming You: The Official Training and Certification Program
Inside the Experience
In person: June 24-27, 2025; Online: July-December 2025
For the first time, we’re opening up the data-rich, deeply probing Becoming You methodology to life coaches, therapists, consultants, educators, and leaders who want to bring this work to their clients, colleagues, students, and communities.
→ Based on the ground-breaking purpose-discovery Becoming You methodology developed by award-winning NYU Stern School of Business Professor Suzy Welch.
→ Rigorous instruction and interactive class sessions combine for an intense, immersive programmatic experience.
→ Founded on the premise that your purpose lies at the intersection of your values, your aptitudes, and the areas of economic growth that call you emotionally and intellectually.
→ Run under the auspices of the NYU | Stern Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing and held on the NYU campus.
→ Grants all successful participants a certification on behalf of the Initiative.
→ Taught personally by Suzy Welch, and other key Becoming You instructors and experts, including Dustin Liu, Senior Associate Director of the NYU Stern | Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing.

The Official Becoming You Training and Certification Program has been designed to help you immediately put the methodology to work at your institution or in your practice.
→ Master the Becoming You framework, including its concepts, lexicon, premises, assessment tools, and techniques.
→ Learn how to run Becoming You workshops and coaching sessions that are as practical as they are transformative.
→ Understand the research and theories that are the foundation of the Becoming You methodology.
→ Join a community of purpose-driven Becoming You certified professionals who are helping people build careers and lives of purpose and flourishing.

Becoming You: The Official Training and Certification Program
Certification Journey
In person: June 24-27, 2025; Online: July-December 2025
Are you ready to help others live their authentic life of flourishing? The certification is a 5-month immersive experience that blends personal discovery with hands-on training. The program is hybrid with an in-person portion from June 24-27, 2025 and then online programming from July-December 2025.
→ Pre-Work: Read Becoming You and complete self-assessments.
→ Zoom Prep: Meet with our team to align on goals and expectations.
→ In-Person Training (June 24-27, 2025) at NYU Stern: Deep dive into Values, Aptitudes, Economically Viable Interests, and the Area of Transcendence framework.
→ Cohort Check-ins & Coaching Practice (August-October 2025): Monthly guided discussions to reinforce learning + opportunities to apply the tools you have learned.
→ Final Certification: A one-on-one interview with Professor Welch.
→ Licensing Agreement: Upon successful completion, you will be licensed to deliver Becoming You workshops and coaching sessions.
Becoming You: The Official Training and Certification Program
Requirements
In person: June 24-27, 2025; Online: July-December 2025
Two or more of the following three bullet points must be true. You have:
→ Experienced Becoming You either as a student at NYU or through an Intensive workshop program.
→ Had at least three years of experience in coaching, facilitation, leadership development, or a related field.
→ A certification from a recognized coaching training program.
All of the following must be true:
→ You are already working with people – whether in corporate settings, executive coaching, career development, or education, or you have an audience or client base who could benefit from this work.
→ You are passionate about helping others find direction and purpose.
→ You have the energy, drive, and commitment to bring Becoming You to your communities.Becoming You: The Official Training and Certification Program
Certification Benefits
In person: June 24-27, 2025; Online: July-December 2025
→ Once certified, you’ll join the exclusive network of Becoming You Certified Practitioners featured on Suzy Welch’s Becoming You website, complete with links to your own website.
→ You will receive a frameable certificate of completion conferred by the NYU Stern Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing.
→ You will receive a virtual credential for your LinkedIn page and personal website.
→ You will have resources and a community to support you as you bring this work into your world through quarterly Community of Practice meetings led by Suzy Welch.
→ You will be granted an exclusive licensing agreement that will provide 50 access codes to Becoming You tools and assessments.

- How much does the certification cost?A$6,500 – This cost includes all learning materials, and in-person and remote classroom instruction over five months. It also includes a reception on the first night (June 24th), as well as breakfast during the New York portion of the program. The cost does not include accommodations in New York, lunch during the program, or travel expenses.
Professor Welch has taught Becoming You to individuals from 18 to 80; the course is designed to be inclusive – and life-transforming – whether you are thisclose to your purpose, and searching for it on what feels like a distant horizon. - Is there licensing included for the materials?AYes, the cost of the program includes one year of licensing. This includes:
→ 25 access codes for each assessment in the Becoming You tool suite (The Values Bridge, PIE360, Career Traits Compass & Holland Bridge).
→ Invitation to quarterly calls exclusive to Becoming You certified practitioners.
→ Inclusion as a certified coach on Suzy Welch’s website.
After the first year, the annual licensing fee will be $750/year. - Who is on the Certification faculty?ACertification Faculty:
