

Suzy Welch is an award-winning Professor of Management at the NYU Stern School of Business, the Director of the NYU Stern | Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing, and the inventor of the Becoming You Methodology, now used by millions worldwide to build thriving careers and organizations.
Professor Welch is an expert on personal values and their role in forging meaningful careers. She holds a PhD in values expression from the University of Bristol, where she developed the Welch-Bristol Values Inventory, a landmark empirical cataloguing of human motivations, and the foundation of The Values Bridge, a scientifically validated assessment.
Her best-selling book Becoming You: The Proven Method for Crafting Your Authentic Life and Career was published in 2025 and named an Amazon Best Book of the Year, and her book 10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea, was published in 2009, and was a long-running New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-seller. A new and revised version of 10-10-10 will be published by HarperCollins in March 2027. Suzy is also the host of two popular podcasts on the Audacy Network, Becoming You and Please Advise.
Professor Welch is the founder and CEO of Becoming You Labs, an organization of researchers, technologists, curriculum experts, and product designers bringing the Becoming You methodology to individuals, institutions, and organizations in more than 40 countries. The Values Bridge, launched in 2024 and featured in The Wall Street Journal and Fortune magazine, has now been taken almost 200,000 times and has been heralded as one of the most powerful values measurement tools developed in the past 25 years.
A graduate of Harvard University, Professor Welch began her career as a reporter for The Miami Herald in 1981, then left journalism for Harvard Business School, graduating as a Baker Scholar before spending seven years at Bain & Company. In 1995, she merged both careers at the Harvard Business Review, eventually becoming its editor.
She later hosted two shows on CNBC, Get to Work, with Suzy Welch and Suzy Welch, Fix My Career, wrote the careers column for O: The Oprah Magazine, and has been a regular contributor to The Today Show since 2010, covering careers and the economy. She co-authored Winning and The Real-Life MBA with her late husband Jack Welch, both international bestsellers, and is a regular op-ed writer for The Wall Street Journal.
Professor Welch lives in New York with her family and dogs.
